Declan Yearwood - CEO Sustain Building Group, LLC

Declan grew up involved in construction, and attended Auburn University where he majored in Finance. He was introduced to Sustainable Construction, Design, and Development at Auburn University taking courses in the School of Architecture.

Declan served as a Firefighter for the City of Auburn for two years before he decided move to Smith Lake to assist his father in constructing custom homes. He was passionate about sustainable construction, and slowly integrated these practices into their projects, and improved the efficiency and education of Trade Contractors and himself. After three years, Declan realized the need for a company that understood the technicalities of sustainable design and construction. He moved to Birmingham and formed Sustain Building Group. Since that time, the company has completed many progressive projects constantly evolving and setting new benchmarks for the Deep South.

Herve Billiet - Operations Engineer Sustain Building Group, LLC

Herve Billiet Herve graduated from the Leuven Engineering School with a Bachelor and a Master degree in Engineering. He also has an MBA degree from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Herve is tri-lingual and he was part of the Mechanical Department of the Umicore Solar Team that built the first Belgian solar car. This is how he became interested in sustainable design and renewable energy.

At Sustain Building Group he designs Solar Electrical systems, solar hot water systems, rainwater water management systems, and much more.

We provide technical assistance from the beginning of the design process through the construction process. Working with the team from the conceptual stage to detail design to implementation during construction. Our approach crosses the disciplinary boundaries and seeks strategies that make sense; economically, socially, and environmentally.
